Ecological Risk Assessment and Source Analysis of Heavy Metals in the Soils of a Lead-Zinc Mining Watershed Area

In this study, concentrations of Cr, Mn, Pb, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Sb, and Fe were determined in soils a Pb-Zn mine watershed northern Guangxi, China, for ecological risk assessment source analysis. The atomic fluorescence spectrometry ICP-OES used to determine heavy metals (HMs), the total amount Pb exceeded limit. Among them, weak acid extractable fraction (F1) state masses Zn accounted higher risk. study area was divided into three distinct areas: highest HMs distributed front Sidi River mountain (1# 2#) at subterranean river entrance (5# 6#), followed by along irrigated (3# 4#), central highlands southwestern parts had low (7# 8#). results indicate Cd is extremely high risk, Mn are medium minor rest have almost no impact on eco-environment. apportionment showed that mainly controlled anthropogenic activities, such as mining; Fe, As influenced natural processes, soil-forming parent rocks; jointly mining rocks. This can provide scientific guidance technical support soil control or remediation areas.
